I used to restore antique Farmall’s for fun and for what I spent at machine shop I could’ve paid for a decent lathe. Nice job keep that old stuff running and working. Those old backhoes are a pain tho. Not near as fun as a row crop tractor to work on lol

I worked for a retired Army bird colonel in college. He only fed his horse square bales of alfalfa hay. The old F350 with 7.3 in it was down so we took whatever his other truck and trailer and my 99 Nissan Frontier 4 cylinder with a 5 speed manual transmission. I m not sure how i ended up with the 16 ft double trailer behind my truck and about 50 bales of green alfalfa, i made the mistake of stopping at the top of the hill, i almost burnt my clutch up. There was a stop sign and i had turn on to a frontage road. I rolled back down the hill got some momentum going and made the turn after i dropped from 3rd to 1st. I got going again and was able to pull it in 4th gear. Now i just made sure i had enough room to stop safely.

Very smart but if you are running the loader and backhoe at the same time would that be really slow?

Lol yeah you don’t get machining tool skills like that growing up on a farm, dudes a mechanical engineer of some kind or you wouldn’t have a shop that big or those types of machining tools on a farm/homestead.
